Since 1992, we have been actively responding to any possible complaints and attending to requests from our customers. For these purposes, we introduced our “quality assurance system” to ensure customer satisfaction and to improve product quality. However, to pursue further improvement in this area, we introduced the integrated management system “CSM 2000”―a system which EcoTek Consortium(headquarters in Germany) set as an international standard―to our factory department, and have concentrated our efforts to acquire the CSM 2000 Certificate.

As both the first apparel company of Japan and the first textile related factory in China, Daidoh Limited (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Factory No. 1), and Daidoh Limited (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. Maanshan Branch (Factory No. 2) were awarded the CSM 2000 Certificate from RWTUV of Germany in March, 2003. The same achievement was repeated in March, 2004 by the made-to-order suit factory of Daidoh Limited Clothing (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Factory No. 4).

Currently, the knit product factory Daidoh Jardin (Maanshan) Co., Ltd. (Factory No. 3) and Daidoh Limited Dyeing and Finishing (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (Factory No. 5) are also working towards attaining the CSM 2000 Certificate.

Through the acquisition of the CSM 2000 Certificate, we are able to avoid unnecessary quality tests and redundant inspections, thus reducing our costs. Furthermore, the standard of quality we pursue and the management system we practice has penetrated some 80 of our suppliers, amongst which, include raw material, dyes, and indirect material manufacturers, making it possible for us to create a system capable of manufacturing products that rate high on both quality and safety.

CSM 2000 stands for “Compliance and Supply Chain Management 2000.” It is an “Overall Inspection & Management System for Textile Products.” This is a system that traces upstream through the production process, from production records to raw materials, and poses questions on responsibility, such as “consumers satisfaction on textile products,” “assurance of product quality,” and questions on social responsibility, such as “environmental concerns,” “safety and hygiene management,” “proper labor standards and work environment,” “trade rules,” and so forth. In other words, this is an integrated management system that makes continual compliance with overall management standards, statues and laws possible.

To speak of international standards, there is ISO9000, standard for regulations; 1SO14000, standard for environmental concerns; SA8000 for explaining social responsibilities; OHSAS18001 for health and safety, just to name a few. Currently, advanced business enterprises are moving towards introducing integrated systems through multiple projects.

In comparison, CSM 2000 is the only continuous integrated supply management system in the world that covers the 5 areas of “quality,” “environment,” “safety, hygiene and health,” “social responsibility,” and “management system.” Presently, the CSM 2000 international standard for textile products is a de facto system. Companies such top Swiss retailer “Migros” and French retailer “Metro” play the role of authenticating some 5000 companies of the world in the 5 areas mentioned above, and conduct supplier and supplier chain management in accordance with CSM 2000.
